Klojen, MC - The clock showed 10.00 WIB, in the midst of the busyness of the employees of the Aisyiyah Islamic Hospital (RSI) Malang who were providing services, suddenly there was an uproar with flames on the third floor of the Salman room in the seven-story hospital building, Saturday (30/1).

Suddenly the hysterical screams and panic of the patients and visitors of the hospital were unavoidable, the fire alarm was already blaring. The Hospital Security Unit (Satpam) immediately acted swiftly by reporting the incident to the hospital director and contacting the fire department.
The hospital director immediately appointed the Head of Nursing to take command and activate the disaster command structure.
This incident is just part of a fire disaster response simulation conducted at RSI Aisyiah Malang in preparing its personnel to respond to disasters.
The seriousness of this simulation shocked the hospital patients who came and the community around the hospital. But after knowing what happened, the community looked calm and followed closely how agile RSI Aisyiah Malang was in dealing with a disaster.
Director of RSI Aisyiah Malang, dr. H. Hartojo, SpPK (K), said that this activity is a form of effort to prepare the community including personnel in the hospital to be ready to face a disaster. RSI Aisyiyah as a supporter of readiness must be ready to face various problems when facing a disaster.
"There are many obstacles faced in taking appropriate action when facing a disaster, including the lack of equipment in hospitals," explained Hartojo, Saturday (30/1).
Not only equipment that Hartojo admitted is still lacking, the use of information technology is also still minimal. From this reality, in the future there must be real steps to be able to cover the existing shortcomings, which certainly requires funds.
The disaster management simulation activity at RSI Aisyiah Malang involved a number of hospital structural officials, FPRB (Disaster Risk Reduction Forum) of Kasin Village, BPBD (Regional Disaster Management Agency) of Malang City, Malang Navy Base (Lanal), Malang City Police, Malang City Health Office and other related parties.
The simulation was also attended by Ir. Medi Herlianto (National Disaster Management Agency), H. Budi Setyawan, ST (Head of the Disaster Management Agency/Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center_red) PP Muhammadiyah, Charles T. Pelham (DFAT/Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Australia).
This disaster management simulation was also evaluated by the Indonesian Ministry of Health's Crisis Management Center, BNPB's Education and Training Center, Brawijaya University's Medical Faculty, and several disaster management partners of PP Muhammadiyah.
Budi Setyawan, ST admitted that he was happy to be able to see firsthand the disaster management simulation at RSI Aisyiyah. This activity is very important to be able to prepare human resources who are ready to face unexpected situations and no matter how bad the situation is.
"Indonesia often experiences a disaster. The experience of the Tsunami disaster in Aceh, the Padang earthquake, the Yogyakarta earthquake is a valuable experience that makes us all have to continue to learn how to deal with a disaster," explained Budi. (cah/yon)
