Klojen, MC – The Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton, saidlaunching The Paid Plastic Policy program is a form of national waste awareness action at the commemoration of National Waste Awareness Day (HPSN) 2016 which was held at Merdeka Square, Malang City, Sunday (21/2).

Even though that morning in the Malang City area was marked by light rain, the local residents still gathered at the Merdeka Square in Malang City, a sign of their extraordinary enthusiasm.
In commemoration of HPSN 2016, various activities were held, starting from coloring competitions, waste recycling competitions, trash can painting competitions, and so on. fashion by utilizing recycled waste materials, clean and tidy, pulling out nails, distributing basic necessities, donating blood, and so on.
Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton revealed that waste management which is a problem does not only occur in Malang City, but also occurs in various other regions in Indonesia. The Malang City Government together with the community is strongly committed to managing waste so that it can bring benefits and no longer be a problem.
"The Malang City Government together with the community continues to strive to reduce waste, both by establishing the Malang Waste Bank (BSM) which manages waste from upstream to downstream," explained the man who is familiarly called Abah Anton, Sunday (21/2).
Abah Anton added, in addition to being carried out to create a clean Malang City, this program is also intended to make the central government's program a success, namely the 2020 Indonesia Free of Waste movement.
The existence of this national waste care action activity is also intended to provide lessons for the community about the utilization of waste. Waste if managed properly, can be created into various crafts to compost fertilizers that have high economic value. (cah/yon)
