"The principle of benefit will be the basis for the study by the East Java Provincial Government so that the building owned by the East Java Provincial BUMD (Regional-Owned Enterprise) can be used by the surrounding community, especially Dinoyo ceramic craftsmen," said Gus Ipul, Wednesday (24/2).
Moreover, Gus Ipul added, the craftsmen have proven their quality with the results that have been exported. The building that has been idle for 12 years is expected to support the ceramic industry in Dinoyo Village.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Malang, who is often called Abah Anton, said that the plan is for the location to be used as a place for educational tourism for ceramic crafts, so that the building has benefits that can encourage the creative industry sector, especially ceramic crafts.
This will continue to be fought for by the Malang City Government, especially in order to face the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). Therefore, craftsmen must be given the means to expand and strengthen their businesses.
"These craftsmen are one of the drivers or motors of the micro economy in facing the global economy. The progress of MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises_ed) will play a big role in the MEA later. So everything must be optimized," concluded Abah Anton. (say/yon)
