Not only in Jakarta, in Malang City, East Java, it turns out to be led by a man who is also of Chinese descent, namely Abah Anton or Goei Hing An. Although a minority as a descendant of Chinese, the man whose full name is Ir. H. Mochamad Anton was elected as Mayor of Malang for the 2013-2018 period and officially served since September 13, 2013.

In addition to being the first mayor of Malang City who is of Chinese ethnicity, Abah Anton is also the administrator of the Indonesian Chinese Islamic Association (PITI) Malang. The Anton-Sutiaji pair was declared the winner of the 2013 Malang Mayoral Election by the Malang City KPU.

Led by Abah Anton, Malang City won the Adipura Kencana Cup from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, the most prestigious award for cleanliness and city innovation. Various innovations were made to develop Malang City into a city worthy of receiving the Adipura Kencana Cup, including by creating the GEMAR (Water Saving Movement) program. This movement includes handling flooding by creating biopores, injection wells, in collaboration with Brawijaya University. Abah Anton has succeeded in renovating various city parks without APBD (Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget) funds, including the revitalization of the Malabar Forest with the help of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility_ed) funds from PT Otsuka, Japan. Some CSR funds were also obtained from various companies, such as PT Bentoel's CSR funds for Taman Cerdas Trunojoyo amounting to Rp 2 billion, Taman Kunang-Kunang amounting to Rp 1,5 billion on Jl. Jakarta, Taman Slamet amounting to Rp 2 billion. "PT Bentoel, which is now part of British American Tobacco, is a national cigarette factory that was born from Malang City," added Abah Anton.

In addition, Malang City also received CSR funds from Nikko Steel in the form of tourist buses (double-decker buses), building Merjosari Park, and many more. playground in Merdeka Square, Malang City. "In addition, we received CSR funds from BRI to build a square worth Rp 5,9 billion located in front of the Great Mosque of Malang," he said.

Another thing that made Malang City get the Adipura Kencana Cup is the BSM or Malang Waste Bank program. Waste is sorted and collected in schools or local RT/RW, then the waste is sorted, for example wet waste for organic fertilizer.
