The success of organizing Oro-oro Dowo Market and receiving positive appreciation from traders, encouraged Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton to again submit support to the Indonesian Ministry of Trade to renovate traditional markets in Malang City.
The request was submitted directly by the man who is familiarly called Abah Anton to the Indonesian Minister of Trade Thomas Trikasih Lembong on the sidelines of discussions about event ICCC (Indonesia Creative Cities Conference).
Even at the meeting in the Trade Minister's meeting room which took place on Friday (4/3), Abah Anton was proud of the Oro-oro Dowo Market as a market with a tourist aroma as well as an aspirational market development model.
"In addition to the commitment to strengthening traditional markets, the Ministry of Trade is also trying to revive UMKM (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises_ed) as the basis for people's industrialization. However, the work ethic must be truly pure (read: pure) industry to be able to compete with foreign products," said Minister Thomas.
Specifically, Minister Thomas also emphasized to Abah Anton that if Malang City wants to develop and strengthen the creative economy, it must be able to provide... bandwidth which is sufficient so that creative economy actors can surf quickly.
At the working meeting of the Indonesian Minister of Trade with the Mayor of Malang, it is expected that Minister Thomas T. Lembong can attend to open the trade exhibition at the ICCC event, visit the Oro-oro Dowo Market, and also give a guest lecture at one of the state universities in Malang City. (say/yon)
