Starfruit, MC – The Malang City Government held the Launching of the 2016 National Polio Immunization Week (PIN) at the RW 21 Hall, Purwantoro Village, Blimbing District, Malang City, Tuesday (8/2). Program Polio PIN 2016 This was implemented simultaneously in Indonesia from March 8 to March 15, 2016.
This event was attended by the Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton who was accompanied by the Chairperson of the Malang City PKK TP Hj. Dewi Farida Suryani, Deputy Mayor of Malang Drs. Sutiaji, Regional Secretary of Malang City Ir. Cipto Wiyono, M.Si, and Head of the Malang City Health Service Dr. dr. Asih Tri Rachmi Nuswantari, MM.
The Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton on this occasion expressed the seriousness of the Malang City Government to continue to produce a healthy next generation.
"We continue to strive to be able to prevent as early as possible. Hopefully, in the future Malang City can continue to be free from polio," explained the man who is familiarly called Abah Anton, Tuesday (8/3).
This PIN Polio activity should be able to encourage people in Malang City to love healthy living even more. Especially mothers who are required to always actively check their children's health from pregnancy to adulthood.
"The presence of the family must be able to provide a positive impact on children. Children are the next generation of the nation. The occurrence of polio is partly due to the lack of parental attention to children," said Abah Anton.
Meanwhile, Head of Malang City Health Office Dr. dr. Asih Tri Rachmi Nuswantari, MM said that PIN Polio 2016 is a national movement for polio-free Indonesia. The target is children aged zero to 59 months regardless of their immunization status.
"There have been no polio cases in Malang City so far. In East Java in 2006, it was found in Probolinggo. Malang City must not be careless, prevention must continue to be actively carried out," he warned.
In Malang City, Asih said that currently there are 62.500 toddlers who will be given polio immunization. Where to reach that many children, 1.003 PIN post points have been prepared which are placed in various corners of Malang City starting from Puskesmas, Balai RW, Posyandu, terminals, shopping centers, and others.
