Indonesian Air Force Soldiers Invited to Farm

Malang, MC – Green House The Abdulrachman Saleh Malang Air Force Base (Lanud) which has been established for two months since yesterday, Tuesday (15/3) began land cultivation using a tractor machine which was attended by the Commander of the Abd. Saleh Air Force Base, Marsma TNI H. RM. Djoko Senoputro, SE, Head of the Personnel Service, and several officials of the Abd. Saleh Air Force Base and several other members.

Plant expert from Batu City, H. Syamsul Munir, who has provided education to members of Abd. Saleh Air Force Base during three meetings, also came to Green House Abd. Saleh Air Force Base to practice how to grow vegetables and fruits.

Danlanud Abd. Saleh and the members present at Green House very enthusiastic to witness how to cultivate land using a tractor machine and several other methods. All those present were given the opportunity to try how to operate a tractor machine which was started by Danlanud which was then continued by several members of the Indonesian Air Force in turns.

"The media used consists of goat manure mixed with crushed coconut husks and fibers to make the seeds," said H. Syamsul while giving directions and practicing it in Green House.

The TNI AU members also participated in mixing all the media that had been provided. Tomato and chili seeds for the initial planting were ready to be planted. Danlanud Abd. Saleh along with the TNI AU members who were in Green House follow the nursery process until completion.

According to Danlanud Abd. Saleh, this farming learning is very important for TNI AU soldiers, because they can apply farming knowledge in their respective homes and to increase income, especially for members of Lanud Abd. Saleh who will enter retirement.

This is also to support one of the central government and TNI Commander programs on food security that has been launched some time ago. "If we are good at farming, when we retire later at least we have additional provisions. In addition to being a hobby and filling free time, it will also be very useful for the family," said Marsma Djoko. (say/yon)
