Lowokwaru, MC - Producing alumni who have strong and superior characteristics, the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) continues to take various steps forward. This time by holding a National Seminar and Workshop (semiloka) on Management of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah College Dormitories at the Cokroaminoto Building, UMM Inn, Friday (18/3).
From the workshop attended directly by the Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership Dahlan Rais M.Hum, UMM Chancellor Drs. Fauzan, M.Pd, Deputy Chairman of the Higher Education Research and Development Council of PP Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. H. Edy Suandi Hamid, M.Ec. The workshop was attended by 77 participants from Muhammadiyah Universities throughout Indonesia.
Fauzan said the role of the dormitory is very important, especially to prepare cadres with two important sides. First from the side of ideological sustainability and second is for economic sustainability.
"On the one hand, dormitories are very important as a medium for developing cadres, secondly, dormitories also play a role as a source of income for the university," explained Fauzan, Friday (18/3).
Dahlan Rais acknowledged that the existence of dormitories has a very strategic role, including educating cadres of the association. With development through the ideology held firmly by Muhammadiyah, namely religiosity, intellectuality and humanity.
"From the education in the dormitory, alumni of Muhammadiyah universities must have more value because only with quality education can accelerate the development of the nation," said Dahlan. (cah/may)
