Klojen, MC – Of the approximately 250 million Indonesian population currently, only about 1,6 percent are entrepreneurs. This number is still relatively small, because at least a minimum of two percent. In other countries such as Malaysia and Korea, five percent of the population are entrepreneurs.

This is a big homework for all parties to produce young and characterful entrepreneurs. One of the efforts to realize this is through the world of education. A student and college student for example, should not wait to graduate or complete their studies to start a business.
These are some of the things conveyed by the Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM) of the Republic of Indonesia, Drs. Anak Agung Gede Ngurah (AAGN) Puspayoga during his working visit to Brawijaya University Malang, Monday (21/3). In this event, Minister Puspayoga also handed over patent certificates and provided soft assistance to UKM actors.
If students have started a business while studying, he continued, then the business that was pioneered must be taken out and continued after they graduate. "The pioneered business should not be left behind. Thus, later in the educational institution that he left, he can pioneer and give birth to a new business," he added.
"Educational institutions should not only provide knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship, but also must shape the mentality of their students. Concretely, the young generation must have a mindset to become true entrepreneurs and not always hope to become employees," said the bespectacled man. (say/yon)
