Starfruit, MC – As an effort to fulfill the demands of the organization in the ranks of the Indonesian Army, on Wednesday (30/03) a ceremony was held to transfer the Command and Control (Kodal) of Yon Armed 8/105 from Kostrad to Kodam V Brawijaya and Yon Armed I/Roket from Kodam V/Brawijaya to Kostrad. The ceremony was held at the Rampal Field in Malang and was attended by high-ranking TNI officers.
According to the Indonesian Army Chief of Staff (Kasad) General TNI Mulyono, the event was also for the flexibility of the Indonesian Army in carrying out its duties and for rematerialization. What is meant by rematerialization here is that the Indonesian Army is modernizing its main defense equipment (alutsista) in accordance with the demands and challenges of the times.
As is known, Kostrad is a strategic reserve unit of the Indonesian Army and the Indonesian Army in general, so this Kodal Transfer is very necessary. "In its duties, Kostrad troops are projected throughout the Republic of Indonesia so they must be professional, have modern equipment, and always be on standby," added the four-star Indonesian Army officer.
"Armed I, which was previously Tarik, became Armed Roket, so that in terms of function and sophistication the tool is more effective if controlled by Kostrad. In terms of location, Armed 8/105 which is in Jember, if mobilized under Kostrad is too far," continued Mulyono.
To make it easy and fast, he explained, in mobilizing the rockets in Malang, it would be more appropriate if it was controlled by Division I which is also in Malang. "Malang is close to the airport, so if at any time it is needed to various regions in Indonesia, it can be immediately dispatched," explained Mulyono. (say/yon)
