Shooting Competition Celebrates 70th Anniversary of Indonesian Air Force

Malang, MC – To welcome the 70th anniversary of the Indonesian Air Force which falls on April 9, 2016, various activities, especially sports competitions, will be held at the Abdulrachman Saleh Indonesian Air Force Base (Lanud) Malang.

A total of 13 units within the Abdulrahman Saleh Air Force Base took part in sports competitions such as volleyball, tennis, table tennis, badminton, and several other sports competitions as well as a shooting competition held on Friday (1/4) at the Gondo Mayit Pagas Singosari Malang Shooting Range.

Shooting competitions are always held to welcome the Indonesian Air Force Anniversary because shooting is one of the skills that must be mastered and continuously honed by every soldier. Shooting competitions are a benchmark for soldiers to determine the extent of the success of the shooting implementation carried out by each unit.

This was conveyed by the Head of Information of Abdulrachman Saleh Malang Air Force Base, Major Sus Hamdi Londong Allo SS. According to him, this event is expected to produce reliable shooters who will later represent their units in competitions at both the force level and higher levels.

"In this competition, the classes competed include long-barreled shooting using SS2 weapons with a distance of 100 m in groups, using three positions, namely prone position, sitting position and standing position. The 13 units consisting of Sathar 31, 32, 33, Depohar 30, Air Squadron 21, 4, 32, Satpomau, Detachment Matra 2 Paskhas and Commando Battalion 464 Paskhas, Skatek 022, Abd Saleh Air Force Base Staff and Joint Staff (GPP 5, SESA, SBK, Satrad 221 Ngliyep)," explained Hamdi.

Hamdi also explained that each unit consisted of 3 people and each person used 18 bullets with three bullets for the experiment, five bullets for the prone shooting position, five bullets for crouching shooting and five bullets for standing shooting.

"From this shooting competition, the individual category assessment was won by the group from the 464 Paskhas Commando Battalion with a score of 363. Also followed by the Denmatra 2 Paskhas group as the second winner with a score of 334 and the third winner was won by the Satpomau group with a total score of 309," concluded Hamdi. (say/may)
