Klojen, MC – Ahead of the Regional Roller Skating Championship (Kejurda) in Surabaya on 23-24 April 2016 next week, the management and roller skate athletes of Malang Inline Skate (MILS) met with the Mayor of Malang City, H. Moch, Anton, to ask for his prayers and blessings, Friday (15/4).
The group was received by the Mayor of Malang in his office. Along with that, the message and advice were conveyed by the number one person in the Malang City Government. "This is it, the athlete who won the gold medal yesterday," said the man who is familiarly called Abah Anton while inviting the athlete and MILS administrators.
With the relaxed style and friendliness shown by Abah Anton, the atmosphere in the room felt comfortable. Understandably, from the beginning, the athletes from MILS who were still children looked awkward and nervous, but when we saw Abah Anton's style of speaking and advice, the atmosphere quickly relaxed.
Abah Anton supports the athletes' steps to achieve success, even though they do not yet have a track or special training place for roller skate athletes, they have shown their achievements.
"Thank you for your struggle and achievements in the national championship yesterday. MILS has made Malang City famous in the national arena. Continue to improve your achievements so that in the future you can be even better," appealed the PKB politician.
He also advised that this achievement should continue to be maintained, and with the minimal facilities, rollerblading administrators and athletes should not feel inferior, but continue to show their achievements.
“The most important thing is to keep fighting and achieving. What is clear is that the Malang City Government will pay attention to your struggle. Show your achievements, Abah will definitely support you. For athletes who achieve, Abah hopes that KONI and the parent organization will synergize better,” said Abah Anton with an enthusiastic tone.
Meanwhile, Suwono, one of the administrators of the MILS Club, said that the purpose of meeting the Mayor of Malang was not only to ask for prayers but also as a motivator for athletes before competing. This was proven by the increasing enthusiasm of athletes to present their best for the City of Malang.
"The children are more enthusiastic after hearing advice from Abah Anton. This is a positive thing and becomes additional capital to fight in the championship in Surabaya later," said Suwono which was agreed by other administrators.
He also explained that one of the MILS athletes has made Malang City proud in the national and international arena. "Yossy Aditya Nugraha, a MILS athlete who entered Puslatda and during the Pra PON match some time ago in West Java. Yossy won a silver medal, as well as when the Puslatda team was sent to Taiwan, Yossy Aditya participated with the other East Java Puslatda Team," he said.
According to Suwono, support from the Mayor of Malang is very motivating for all athletes. "Thank you Abah Anton, thank you for your support and motivation, and hopefully we can give our best for Malang City," he concluded. (say/yon)
