The hajj quota or passports that must be completed by the Malang Class I Immigration Office are 5.631 passports targeted for completion in mid-May 2016. Until yesterday, Wednesday (20/4), of that number, around 2.500 passports or around 50 percent have been completed. In order to achieve that target, every day the Malang immigration office can complete 200 to 300 hajj passports.

This was conveyed by the Head of the Class I Malang Immigration Office, Salman Faris Dalimunthe, SE, MM to the media crew, Wednesday (20/4). The passport quota, he continued, will be completed as soon as possible because in early August 2016 there will be a departure of prospective hajj pilgrims for the first flight group (kloter).

"In addition, this is to anticipate the addition of the quota of prospective hajj pilgrims whose passports must also be completed immediately. So if there is an addition in mid-May, after 5.631 passports are completed, those included in the additional quota can also be completed properly," added Faris.

Based on previous years' experience, this quota increase is not too much, which is around 30 to 40 people. "So far we have been able to resolve it and there are no significant problems regarding this matter. Sudden quota increases like this are common, and we have anticipated it," Faris explained.

Faris further said that his party had held a coordination meeting with the local Department of Religion and Dispendukcapil (Population and Civil Registration Service) long before to anticipate various matters related to the processing of this Hajj passport.

"In the coordination meeting, among other things, the requirements for processing hajj passports have been discussed, which can be coordinated with the local Department of Religion and Dispendukcapil. So so far there have been no problems," he said. (say/yon)
