Breadfruit, MC – Usually living on the streets looking for a living for their families, the residents of Tanjungrejo Village still look cheerful despite all their limitations. This was captured in the Kartini Day Commemoration event with Residents of Tanjungrejo Village, Sukun District, Malang City, Thursday (21/4).
The event held by the Malang City Social Service in collaboration with Bank Indonesia Malang was attended by the Head of the Malang City Social Service, the Assistant for Development Administration of the Malang City Regional Secretariat, the Head of the BI Malang Representative Office and all residents of Tanjungrejo Village.
The atmosphere became even more lively when the residents of the Social Service showed off their singing skills. Even the Head of the Social Service, Dra. Sri Wahyuningtyas, M.Si and the Head of the BI Malang Representative Office, Dudi Herawadi, also danced. The excitement of this event was evident from the joy radiated from all the residents and the community who came.
On this occasion, the Malang City Government and BI Malang also shared by providing various equipment packages that can be used by less fortunate residents to become entrepreneurs.
Assistant for Development Administration of Malang City Secretariat Ir. Budi Herwanto, MT said that this activity was an extraordinary gift. The Malang City Government, BI Malang, and the residents of Tanjungrejo Village could gather together to commemorate Kartini Day to remember her extraordinary struggle.
"In Malang City, the Head of the Social Service is a woman, the Head of Sukun District is also a woman. This fact can happen because of Kartini's struggle," explained Budi, Thursday (21/4).
She hopes that mothers and teenagers in Tanjungrejo can also emulate Kartini's spirit in fighting so that all the hardships and difficulties they face can be overcome as quickly as possible.
Head of BI Malang Representative Office, Dudi Herawadi admitted that he was happy to be able to gather together with the Tanjungrejo community. The celebration of Kartini Day like this time is expected to inspire the spirit to rise out of all the hardships that exist.
"Today must be better than yesterday. This kind of thinking must also be used by inmates in Tanjungrejo to rise from the difficulties they face so they can live prosperously," Dudi stressed.
He added, as the Javanese say 'sawang sinawang', what seems easy, but for those who live it is not necessarily easy. It seems difficult for those who experience it is not necessarily difficult.
