This tree planting action involved students, guardians, teachers, school committees and environmental cadres from the Malang City Cleanliness and Parks Service (DKP). Several types of trees planted were rain trees, mangoes and guavas. In addition, various types of vegetables such as tomatoes, eggplants and spinach were also planted by students.

The students, in addition to bringing plants from their respective homes, also utilized used items to be used as planting media such as used beverage bottles. They looked enthusiastic in planting in front of their respective classes.

With the commemoration of World Earth Day, according to the Head of MTsN Malang 2, Pono, it is hoped that it will not only be a festive or ceremonial event but can be sustainable. "We want this planting activity to become a culture for students, so that they can also spread it to other people in their environment," he explained.

"Caring for and loving this earth must be done by all parties, so that humans as inhabitants of the earth can avoid various disasters such as floods and landslides. We want to cultivate tree planting activities from an early age to the younger generation so that they can later become a generation of the nation that has high concern for the environment," explained Pono.
