Malang, MC – Joint training in the ranks of the Indonesian Air Force Operations Command (Koopsau) II with the code Sikatan Daya (Sida) 2016 was opened by the Commander of Koopsau II, Air Marshal TNI Dody Trisunu on Wednesday (25/5).
The event was witnessed by Koopsau II units via teleconference. Yesterday, Friday (27/5), Pangkoopsau II directly reviewed the implementation of the 2016 Sida exercise at the Abdulrachman Saleh Air Force Base (Lanud) whose arrival was received by the Commander of the Abd. Air Force Base, Air Marshal TNI H. RM. Djoko Senoputro, SE along with other officials of the Abd. Saleh Air Force Base at the Binayudha Building of the Abd. Saleh Air Force Base, Malang.
As a manifestation of efforts to strengthen the professionalism of individuals, units and Kotama, the Sikatan Daya Exercise was carried out which is an accumulation of training development activities carried out in Indonesian Air Force units which were attended by combat elements of the Abd. Saleh Air Force Base ranks consisting of combat elements, transport, reconnaissance transport, and tactical combat.
The post rehearsal conducted since May 25, 2016 was intended to coordinate or train operational staff, both in terms of personnel and logistics involved. All of this was intended before the implementation of the field maneuver exercise which will be held at AWR Maluka Baulin, South Kalimantan on June 1, 2016. In addition, at Tjilik Riwut Airport, Palangkaraya on June 2, 2016 and immediately continued with the closing ceremony.
According to the Commander of Wing 2 of Abd. Saleh Air Force Base as the Commander of the Combat Support Task Force (Dansatgasdukpur) of Abd. Saleh Air Force Base Malang at the 2016 Sikatan Daya command post rehearsal, he explained that the purpose of the Sikatan Daya Command post rehearsal was to test the Indonesian Air Force doctrine up to the unit level used in conducting an air operation as well as to maintain and improve the combat capabilities of personnel.
"This exercise will involve four C-130 Hercules aircraft from Air Squadron 32 and five EMB 314 Super Tucano aircraft from Air Squadron 21 Wing 2 Abd. Saleh Air Base," he said.
"In this exercise involved Abd. Saleh Air Base, Hasanudin (Hnd) Air Base Makassar, Samsyudin Nur (Sam) Air Base Banjarmasin, Iswahyudi (Iwy) Air Base Madiun and Tjilik Riwut Airport Palangkaraya Central Kalimantan along with defense equipment. Sukhoi SU 27/30 aircraft, F 16 aircraft, T50i aircraft, EMB 314 Supertucano, C-130 Hercules aircraft, C 212 Casa aircraft, Boeing 737 aircraft, NAS-332 aircraft and SA-330 Helly aircraft also enlivened the exercise," he concluded.
