Klojen, MC – Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton along with several heads of SKPD (Regional Work Units_ed) within the Malang City Government again conducted a surprise inspection (sidak) to the Malang Big Market (PBM) so that the relocation of traders could be carried out as soon as possible, Monday (6/6).
Although the conditions inside the Malang Big Market are still stuffy due to the fire that occurred some time ago, the Mayor of Malang who is usually called Abah Anton still went in to see the real conditions inside the market. Inside the Big Market, there were activities of several traders cleaning their places of business that were damaged by the fire.
In front of the PBM on the north side, workers were seen building temporary shelters so that they could be immediately occupied by traders affected by the fire. Workers were also seen busy fixing the electricity network at PBM.
Abah Anton said that the installation of electricity and clean water must be done immediately. As conveyed by Abah Anton, PLN and PDAM Malang City have been asked to immediately fix the existing installations.
"I have asked PLN and PDAM to install electricity and clean water today, the availability of electricity and clean water is very much needed to speed up the cleaning of the market," explained Abah Anton, Monday (6/6).
Abah Anton hopes that PBM can soon resume its activities considering that Eid al-Fitr is getting closer, which of course will increase the flow of economic turnover in PBM. "Likewise, Pasar Besar traders certainly want to be able to sell again in this month of Ramadan," he explained.
In order for the relocation and construction of Pasar Besar to be completed quickly, Abah Anton also asked the Head of the Market Service to increase the number of employees and working hours until 21.00 WIB. His party will also immediately rearrange Pasar Besar so that in the future it can be more representative for use.
Some of the additional facilities of PBM include a prayer room, a nursing room, and a polyclinic. With this addition, it is hoped that in the future PBM can become a comfortable place for visitors to come to shop. (cah/yon)
