Malang, MC – The Farmers Group (Poktan) of Abdulrachman Saleh Air Force Base, Malang, consisting of members of Abd. Saleh Air Force Base, yesterday, Wednesday (8/6), continued learning how to farm using the hydroponic system. Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) delivered by Mrs. Tyas from PT. Agro Gemilang Malang.
The event held at the Binayudha Building of Abd Saleh Air Force Base was also attended by the Commander of Abd Saleh Air Force Base Malang, Air Marshal H. RM. Djoko Senoputro, SE.
As explained by Mrs. Tyas and Mrs. Susan some time ago, the Abd Saleh Air Force Base Farmer Group has been introduced to and taught how to plant using the NFT system.
And this time we will continue learning how to maintain the right pH in a hydroponic system. (hydroponic system) which will prevent negative chemical reactions in hydroponic nutrient solutions due to high pH levels which can cause blockages in the hydroponic system channels.
There are six systems discussed about the nutrition problem for hydroponic plants and various types of hydroponics. Among them are NFT (Nutrient Film Technique), Dark Bucket, Rafting System, and others.
He said that the pH range of a plant does have differences, but to overcome this, we must know the maximum limits of the plants we have, because too much acid and base can cause corrosion and of course that is dangerous for plants.
Yesterday's farmer group briefing was attended by 40 people from each farmer group of each work unit at Abd Saleh Air Force Base. Each work unit was assigned two people to receive direction from PT Agro Gemilang Malang. The Commander of Abd Saleh Air Force Base who was also present at the event also listened to Mrs. Tyas' presentation on how to maintain soil acidity.
Marsma Djoko appealed to his members who joined the farmer group to be enthusiastic in following this farming learning. Because Lanud Abd Saleh has collaborated with plant experts from PT. Agro Gemilang in collaboration with Brawijaya University and Muhammadiyah University of Malang.
Danlanud Abd Saleh also said, by learning farming like this can open up agricultural business opportunities for members of Lanud Abd Saleh who participate in the farmer group. This program is to stimulate and provide innovation for members of Lanud Abd Saleh in developing agribusiness farming. (say/yon)
