Jakarta, MC – Malang Mayor H. Moch Anton accepted an interview invitation from the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry in order to assess Malang City as a candidate for the 2016 Adipura Paripurna award at the Manggala Wanabhakti Auditorium, Jakarta, Thursday (23/6).

Adipura Paripurna is the highest level of environmental award. And it is a matter of pride for Malang City because it can be one of the nominees from 12 cities throughout Indonesia that are candidates for the 2016 Adipura Paripurna award.
The 12 nominees are the City of Tangerang, the City of Balikpapan, the City of Madiun, the City of Malang, the City of Semarang, the Regency of Jombang, the Regency of Pati, the Regency of Banjar (Martapura), the City of Surabaya, the Regency of Nganjuk, the Regency of Tulungagung, and the Regency of Lamongan.
In his presentation, Abah Anton, as the Mayor of Malang is usually called, explained that his party was very grateful for the opportunity that had been given this time. "I also express my gratitude to the people of Malang City for their role in protecting the environment and innovating in the environmental sector in Malang City," said Abah Anton.
As in previous years, Malang City will usually compete with Balikpapan City and Surabaya City in the Adipura award event, but if you look at the existing nominations, seven of the 12 nominees are from East Java. "This is clearly very proud, the opportunity for the Adipura Paripurna Cup to fall in East Java is very large," he said again.
Various programs and breakthroughs in the environmental sector continue to be promoted, starting from improving air and water quality, managing Green Open Spaces (RTH), waste management, and various other breakthroughs.
"Hopefully the various efforts we have made are not in vain, not merely to achieve the 2016 Adipura Paripurna award, but more on our love for environmental preservation in Malang City," concluded Abah Anton. (say/yon)
