Breadfruit, MC – Four State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) namely PT Rajawali Nusindo, PT Perkebunan Nusantara VII, PTPN XII, PT Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero) held a cheap market and provided assistance to orphans in the hall of the Sukun District Office, Malang City, Friday (24/6). The activity entitled 'BUMN Hadir Untuk Negeri' was held in the framework of the 2016 Ramadan Safari.

Director of Business Development and Investment of PT Rajawali Nusindo, Agung P. Murdanto revealed that the sale of cheap basic necessities in Malang City is a BUMN program to help the underprivileged. In Malang City, 1.000 basic necessities packages are provided, divided into 200 packages each in five sub-districts in Malang City.
"We hope that this activity can help poor people to buy quality basic necessities at affordable prices," said Agung, Friday (24/6).
The cheap basic necessities containing 10 kg of rice, 2 kg of granulated sugar, and 2 liters of cooking oil worth Rp. 150 thousand were sold for Rp. 25 thousand to the public.
Agung explained that the sale of cheap basic food packages was also carried out simultaneously in various other regions in Indonesia. There were 103.000 packages distributed throughout Indonesia, while for East Java itself there were 4.000 packages.
"In addition to selling cheap basic necessities, there are many CSR activities (Corporate Social Responsibility_ed) "What we do includes building houses for veterans and providing assistance to vocational schools," explained Agung.
Meanwhile, Deputy Mayor of Malang Drs. Sutiaji who opened the cheap market activity admitted that he was pleased with the concern of BUMN to help the underprivileged in Malang City. In the future, he hopes that assistance will not only be in the form of basic food packages but more towards community empowerment programs. (cah/yon)
