Klojen, MC – To support the security and smooth flow of homecoming from Kota Baru Malang Station, the Brimob unit from Detachment B Pelopor Polda East Java deployed 61 of its personnel. These fully armed personnel are spread across PT KAI Operations Area (Daops) VIII Surabaya and Daops IX Jember.
AKBP Sunadi as the Commander of the Brimob Unit Detachment B Pelopor Polda Jatim said that the Brimob personnel deployed were to assist PT KAI, especially Polsuska, train drivers, and other officers during the Lebaran homecoming flow. "These troops will be on guard at the station and escort the train journey," he said, Saturday (25/6).
These fully armed troops, Sunadi explained, are in accordance with their duties and functions in maintaining security for the community. "They have also been equipped with skills as snipers. This is to anticipate various incidents that can occur at any time. Considering the flow of homecoming since D-10 Lebaran has increased quite drastically. A situation like this is prone to criminal acts if not anticipated early on," he explained.
"The Brimob troops who will be assigned until D+7 of Lebaran also assist PT KAI in checking the railroad tracks, as well as inspecting the train carriages before departing for their destinations. The seats and storage areas in the carriages are sterilized by these Brimob soldiers to anticipate unwanted things," explained Sunadi.
With the extra security from the ranks of Brimob Polda Jatim, Sunadi continued, it is hoped that it can provide security and comfort to the people who are going home, as well as the return flow later.
