Malang City Farmers Group Receives Agricultural Equipment Assistance

Klojen, MC – In the midst of the morning assembly in the yard of the Malang City Hall Office, Monday (18/7), the Mayor of Malang H. Moch. Anton handed over agricultural equipment assistance to nine farmer groups (Poktan). The assistance was in the form of five hand tractor, two rice transplanter, and two water pumps.

Abah Anton, as the Mayor of Malang is familiarly called, said that this agricultural equipment assistance was carried out so that farmers could be more productive in processing their agricultural products. And this is in accordance with the government's big program and vision in maintaining food security, especially in Malang City.

"This agricultural equipment assistance is very important so that farmers can maintain their productivity. Thus, agricultural output in Malang City is more optimal, especially in supporting the food self-sufficiency program," said Abah Anton.

In addition, the PKB politician also appealed to the farmer groups receiving assistance to use the tools properly and not to misuse them because the government will take firm action if any farmer groups are found to have misused the aid tools. "So the government appeals for agricultural tools to be used properly, according to their function," added Abah Anton.

In the near future, the Malang City Government will also provide similar assistance to other farmer groups so that agricultural productivity can be increased.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Malang City Agriculture Service (Disperta) said that according to data from the Malang City Disperta, the amount of agricultural land that can be cultivated currently is 865 hectares, but its productivity is the second largest in East Java in producing dry grain.

"Although our land is small, our agricultural management is very good. Our farmers are very productive," explained the man who is familiarly called Soni. (say/yon)
