Siak, MC – In addition to accompanying the Mayor of Malang H. Moch Anton to attend the peak of the World Environment Day commemoration in Siak Regency, Riau Province, the Chairperson of the Malang City PKK TP, Hj. Dewi Farida Suryani also took the time to visit Dekranasda (Regional National Craft Council) of Siak Regency, Friday (22/7).
During her visit this time, Umi Farida, as the Chairperson of TP PKK is usually called, apart from buying several souvenirs of Siak's typical handicrafts, she also saw how the process of making Siak's typical woven cloth and batik is carried out.
"Every time I accompany Abah (H. Moch, Anton_red) to a district/city in Indonesia, I always take the time to stop by the Dekranasda of that area to absorb positive things in that city to later be implemented in Malang City," he explained.
As in Siak Regency, in the Dekranasda office, in addition to providing a souvenir and handicraft sales center, there are also craftsmen who directly demonstrate making woven cloth and typical Siak batik cloth.
"That is what I will adopt to complete the PKK Corner by adding craftsmen who can demonstrate making handicrafts, because that is a special attraction for visitors," added Umi Farida.
In addition, he also conveyed other positive aspects, including that it can be used as an educational tool for students in Malang City, especially in terms of making handicrafts.
"Not only the PKK mothers, I hope that later students in Malang City can also take advantage of the craftsmen's facilities at the PKK Corner to hone their creativity," concluded the friendly woman. (say/yon)
