The Malang Design Festival is an event for 57 sub-districts in Malang City to compete to build thematic villages. Where later each sub-district will submit Engineering Design Details (DED) in realizing it.

On this occasion, the Mayor of Malang, who is familiarly called Abah Anton, advised the sub-district heads and village heads to always carry out innovations and breakthroughs, both in the environmental sector and in accelerating economic growth.

According to him, this emphasis is important because in 2016 the Malang City Government achieved many achievements, one of which was the Adipura Kirana, and in the future it is hoped that (Malang City) will be able to achieve the Adipura Paripurna.

"Later, there will also be Adipura Bhakti, where the Adipura that will be assessed is the direct involvement of regional heads in the cleanliness of their environment," said Abah Anton.

In addition, in the future, Abah Anton will also invite all rectors in Malang City to sit together to discuss solving several crucial problems currently being faced.

Abah Anton emphasized that existing universities should not only seek as many students as possible, but should also think about the impact by helping to find solutions to reduce traffic congestion.

"If necessary, we will hold regular meetings on campuses once a month, where we will also discuss what form of social contribution will be made to our beloved city of Malang," he said.

In addition, Abah Anton also expressed his interest in urban forests. He got the inspiration when he attended the 5th Apeksi National Conference in Jambi City.

"If in Malang we make only five hectares, it will be good, and coincidentally we still have a large area of land if we mobilize all students to carry out the tree park movement. There are indeed many benefits that we will get later. In addition to creating a green environment, it will also add new tourist attractions," concluded the PKB politician. (say/yon)
