Breadfruit, MC – Opened with the Kepontal-pontal Dance, the Ludruk Lerok Anyar Performance at the Gajayana Arts Building in Malang became a cure for the longing of traditional art lovers. Attended by famous artist Didik Nini Thowok, the performance received a very enthusiastic welcome from the public, Saturday (20/8).

Head of the Malang City Culture and Tourism Office (Disbudpar), Ida Ayu Made Wahyuni, SH, M.Si appreciated the ludruk performance initiated by Malang City artists. According to her, this activity is proof that the presence of ludruk is still highly anticipated by the community.
"I am very happy to witness the return of ludruk in Malang City. This performance is expected to further revive and shine the art of ludruk in Malang City," Ida hoped, Saturday (20/8).
One of the artists of Malang City, Yongki Irawan, admitted that he was happy with the holding of the ludruk performance which was almost extinct in Malang City. The cooperation of the artists with the Malang City Culture and Tourism Office made this activity possible and must continue to be nurtured and developed.
"We hope that by presenting old and young artists in this activity, it can be a good generational shift in the arts, including ludruk art," said Yongki. (cah/yon)
