Kedungkandang, MC – The Indonesian Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) has been conducting supervision and inspection of BBM (Fuel Oil) measuring pumps in 20 cities in Indonesia since April 2016. Yesterday, Thursday (25/8), it was the turn of five SPBU (Public Fuel Filling Stations) in Malang City, which was the last destination city to undergo inspection and supervision.

In addition to checking the fuel measuring pumps at gas stations, the team from the Ministry of Trade also took three samples of fuel liters at the same speed. Each gas station visited was also required to open the measuring pump box to check the various parts or equipment inside.
In this supervision, there are three factors that are the focus, namely the calibration mark, the accuracy of the measurement results, and how to use it. So far, in Malang City, no violations have been found by the gas station management. However, there are gas stations in several cities such as Batam and Makassar that have been forced to be sealed.
This was conveyed by the Head of Law Enforcement of the Directorate of Metrology of the Indonesian Ministry of Trade, Wilsaningsih. He added that for gas stations that have been sealed, the management will be given special guidance and will be re-calibrated. "As long as they are under guidance and do not repeat the mistake, there will be no legal sanctions," he explained.
However, if otherwise, continued the veiled woman, according to Law No. 81 of 1981, the person concerned or the one who made the mistake will be sentenced to one year and a fine of one million rupiah. "Therefore, with regular supervision and inspection like this, it is hoped that there will be no more violations committed by the gas station management," added Wilsaningsih.
Separately, the Head of the Malang City Trade and Industry Agency, Dra. Tri Widyani P., M.Si said that supervision and inspection like this must be carried out frequently by the central government. "With this supervision, it will avoid fraud from the gas station management and protect the public as consumers," he explained. (say/yon)
