The MC - Located at the Eng An Kiong Temple located on Jl. Martadinata, Malang City, the Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton together with the Malang City Police Chief, AKBP Decky Hendarsono, SIP and several Heads of SKPD of the Malang City Government took part in the distribution of basic necessities to around ten thousand Malang City residents, Monday (29/8).

In the annual event in the framework of Sedekah Bumi and to enliven the 71st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence held by the Eng An Kiong Temple Foundation, the Mayor of Malang, who is familiarly called Abah Anton, also distributed basic food packages containing four kilograms of rice and noodles.
Abah Anton really appreciates the activities held by Eng An Kiong Temple, because according to him, actions like this need to be carried out because they help the government in eradicating poverty and are in accordance with the vision of Caring for the Little People.
"What Eng An Kiong Temple has done is very positive, and the government is very supportive of it. Hopefully the poverty rate in Malang City will continue to decrease," said Abah Anton.
The number one person in the Malang City Government also hopes that social actions like this can be imitated by other community groups so that the nuance of helping each other and sharing feelings can be realized by all groups to the underprivileged.
The PKB politician added that he also hopes that not only Klenteng (Eng An Kiong) but everyone can set aside their fortune to help the underprivileged.
The distribution of basic food packages to around ten thousand underprivileged residents in 21016 was very smooth and without any obstacles. Different from the previous year, this year the children who were asked to queue by their parents also received basic food packages.
Separately, Eng An Kiong Bonshu Temple Public Relations Anton Triono was pleased because this year the number of food package recipients had decreased. "Last year there were 12 thousand recipients and this time ten thousand. This means the number of poor people in Malang has decreased," he said.
"For next year (2017), we hope that the number will go down again. We from the Eng An Kiong Temple Foundation are ready to help the government in the program to reduce the number of poverty figures," concluded Bonshu Anton. (say/yon)
