Lowokwaru, MC – The Population and Civil Registration Service (Dispendukcapil) of Malang City continues to work extra hard so that all Malang City residents can immediately have an Electronic ID Card (KTP-el).

Head of Dispendukcapil Malang City, Dra. Metawati Ika Wardani, M.Si revealed that getting an e-KTP is very easy. Just bring a photocopy of the Family Card (KK) and Siak KTP and it can be processed immediately.
"Until now, the number of Malang City residents who do not have e-KTP as many as 76.500. We hope it can be processed as soon as possible so that in October 2016 all Malang City residents who are 17 years old and above or married will have an e-KTP," explained Meta, Wednesday (31/8).
Currently, e-KTP services in Malang City are also held on working holidays, namely Saturday and Sunday. The hope is that of the 76.500 residents who do not have e-KTP, 75 percent of them can be completed in September. According to him, the figure of 75 percent is considered realistic because it is very difficult to reach 100 percent by the end of September, because many Malang City residents are also outside the region or abroad.
"To serve the community, we also open recording e-KTP every Saturday and Sunday in five sub-districts in Malang City from 08.00 to 14.00," added Meta.
He explained that the recording of e-KTP on Saturday and Sunday was carried out for residents who had never recorded since 2011 to 2016 and did not apply for extension. Because based on the Circular of the Minister of Home Affairs No. 470/296/SJ dated January 29, 2016, the e-KTP is valid for life and does not need to be extended even though it has expired.
KTP-el is very important for the community, especially since starting October 2016, public services will be encouraged to use KTP-el. (cah/yon)
