"When the program comes from the community, they will guard it and do it seriously. It is very different when the program comes from the local government and is run by the community, sometimes it is not even successful," said Abah Anton, Thursday (22/9).
Abah Anton gave an example, the Malang Design Festival which was initiated by the Malang City Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) with the aim of forming a Thematic Village leading to... Smart The village is one way to accommodate ideas from the community to work together with the government to advance their region. "We facilitate what the public wants, programs like that are more effective," he added.
The effects of the program are bottom up or comes from residents, it also has an impact on behavioral patterns and mindset community. For example, in Kampung Warna Warni, currently residents in the area who initially littered on the riverbanks, now no longer do so, in fact they maintain the cleanliness of the area because it is now a tourist destination, both domestic and foreign.
"Residents in Kampung Warna Warni currently no longer bathe, wash and do other activities in the river. Therefore, we will build MCK facilities. That way, the government's program to eradicate slum areas through the 100-0-100 program can succeed," he said.
Skill Another thing that Abah Anton has shown is his prowess in reaching out to entrepreneurs to provide funds Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the development of Malang City.

In fact, in line with the program of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, to increase regional investment, Abah Anton is currently also planning to build a monorail by collaborating with investors.
"Building the monorail has two positive aspects, namely to reduce traffic congestion and also to grow the investment world in Malang City which is known to be very conducive. Later, with that, it can grow the community's economy," said the number one person in the Malang City Government.
