In addition, the decision was taken to restore the function of land in Merjosari which had been converted into a place for traders to sell.

Following up on the traders' relocation, the Malang City Market Service has held meetings and coordination meetings with elements of the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) some time ago, and all parties agreed that Dinoyo Market must be reactivated for traders to sell in order to create a good economy.

"A few days ago we held a meeting with Forkopimda elements for preconditions before traders move to Dinoyo Market," said the Head of the Malang City Market Service, Drs. Wahyu Setianto, MM, Sunday (25/9)

Before meeting with the Forkopimda, Wahyu had also submitted a letter containing a request for the revocation of the Mayor's Regulation (Perwal) concerning the Determination of the Temporary Shelter for Merjosari Market as a Traditional Market to the Legal Section of the Malang City Regional Secretariat as a legal basis for returning the land in Merjosari as a settlement and no longer being used as a temporary shelter for traders.

"If the regional regulation has been revoked, the Merjosari Market area will be returned to its original function, namely residential," he added.

Wahyu confirmed that traders in Merjosari have agreed to move to Dinoyo Market which is scheduled for September. The Market Service continues to socialize traders who are still selling at Merjosari Market to move to Dinoyo Market soon.

As a form of socialization and announcement to traders and consumers, the Market Service put up a banner containing an announcement that on September 30, 2016, the market area would be fenced off.

Meanwhile, Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton hopes that the relocation of traders can be realized soon, so that it will have a positive impact on increasing income for traders at Dinoyo Market. "Dinoyo Market has now been completed and is expected to drive the wheels of the community's economy," said Abah Anton, as the Mayor of Malang is familiarly called. (say/yon)
