BPKAD Holds Dissemination of Accrual-Based Accounting Systems and Policies

Klojen, MC – The Malang City Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) held a Dissemination of Accrual-Based Accounting Systems and Policies at the Aria Gajayana Hotel Malang, Wednesday (5/9).

Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton opened the event which invited the heads of SKPD, financial administration officers, treasurers of receipts and treasurers of expenditures of SKPD within the Malang City Government.

This activity is an effort by the Malang City Government to facilitate SKPD in aligning the perception of accrual-based government accounting standards. Since 2015, the Malang City Government has implemented an accrual-based government accounting system in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 64 of 2013 concerning the Implementation of Accrual-Based Government Accounting Standards in Regional Governments.

“This is very important. As we all know, the purpose of regional financial audits is to provide adequate assurance (reasonable assurance)," explained the man who is familiarly called Abah Anton, Wednesday (5/12).

And the financial report has been done fairly in material matters supported by valid and accountable evidence. All is done to provide an opinion on the fairness of regional financial information based on compliance with government accounting standards.

The resource person for the activity, Head of Sub-Directorate for Implementation and Accountability of Regional Finances for Region II (Java and Bali) of the Directorate General of Regional Financial Development of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Syariful Anwar added that the implementation of the APBD in the district or city is expected to be on time in accordance with applicable regulations.

"This aims to ensure that development in the regions can run well. There will be sanctions if the implementation of the regional budget in the regions is late," he explained.

Meanwhile, the Head of BPKAD Malang City Ir. Sapto Prapto Santoso, M.Si revealed that this activity was a refresher for all SKPDs within the Malang City Government. The activity was attended by 317 participants and was held until Friday (7/10). (cah/yon)
