Klojen, MC – Unusually, the parking area behind the Malang City DPRD Building was so crowded. Fire was seen blazing and it was no wonder that all the occupants of the Malang City DPRD Building panicked and scattered. In the midst of the panic and chaos, without being commanded, the workers in the DPRD Building immediately tried to tame the fire.
It turned out that it was a firefighting simulation scenario at the Malang City DPRD Building which was attended by all workers at the Malang City DPRD Office, Thursday (13/10).
Head of General Affairs of the Secretariat of the Malang City DPRD, Sumardi Mulyono, revealed that the deliberate holding of this firefighting training was for anticipation. All participants of this activity were also asked to be disaster-responsive when at home or elsewhere.
"If not ourselves, who else can put out the fire when a fire occurs quickly. That is why we are holding this training," explained Sumardi, Thursday (13/10).
With all workers at the Malang City DPRD trained to be agile in dealing with fires, in the future it is hoped that fire disaster management can be carried out quickly and training like this can help firefighters whose numbers are very limited.
"Through the right technique, fires can be prevented from spreading and can be extinguished as soon as possible. In addition to using fire extinguishers, this exercise also uses wet sackcloth to quickly extinguish the fire," explained Sumardi. (cah/yon)
