Currently, the Regional Revenue Service is designing a program to reduce the amount of PBB for farmers or agricultural land owners.
Thus, it is hoped that this policy will encourage agricultural sector players to maintain land functions. In Malang City Government records, this year there are only 846 hectares (ha) of agricultural land left, with 68 of them being Malang City Government assets and 778 others belonging to farmers.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Malang City Agriculture Service (Disperta), Ir. Hadi Santoso welcomed the discourse positively. Hadi emphasized the importance of populist policies as a preventive effort from local agricultural land conversion efforts.
"Because the priority efforts of the Malang City Government are currently to maintain the remaining agricultural land, we also welcome the plan to synergize with the Dispenda to reduce resistance to land conversion, one of which is by reducing the burden of PBB on agricultural land," said Soni, his nickname.
Consequently, an integrity pact is needed between stakeholder land to support tax reduction programs or administrative sanction elimination later. This is to prevent the possibility of agricultural land or rice fields that have received relief being sold by their owners.
"If Dispenda can sort and also readjust related PBB, of course it can be right on target and reap positive responses from farmers. As technical implementers, we are ready to work together to make this program a success," he said optimistically.
