FK Metra Bagra Represents East Java at the National Pertura Festival

Klojen, MC – The Bawera Grahawarta Traditional Media Communication Forum (FK Metra Bagra) formed by the Malang City Communication and Informatics Agency (Kominfo) has achieved many achievements, both at national and international levels. One of them was through the East Java Pertura Festival on April 24, 2015, which won fourth place.

Entering its first year, FK Metra Bagra was appointed by the East Java Provincial Communication and Information Service to represent East Java Province at the National People's Performance Festival (Pertura) on 17-19 November 2016.

FK Metra Bagra was built with the aim of becoming a community forum for artists, creators, observers and even performing arts administrators, which can provide space and time to artists and performing arts creators in Malang City so that they can express themselves through their respective fields of art.

FK Metra Bagra strives to embrace all branches of traditional performing arts, especially in Malang City, through new creative arts based on existing traditional arts so that they can provide a positive message to the community.

Looking at the name Bagra or Bawera Grahawarta, Bawera (read: the bawer_red) is a Javanese term meaning wide, spacious, stretched out. The message contained in this name is that Malang has a very broad cultural realm and is very possible to be developed and popularized throughout the world. So this popularity is what is aimed at in the word Bawera to elevate the existence of MALANG's noble arts and culture.

With its popularity and reaching out to the vast space spread across the Nusantara region, Malang Bawero will be known in the eyes of the world. Especially in the fields of art, tourism, education, industry and crafts supported by the friendliness of the Malang community.

While Grahawarta consists of two words, namely Graha which means place, media, house. While the second word is Warta which means news, information, notification, announcement. Thus the word Grahawarta contains the meaning of a place or media for news or important information with good, beautiful and enjoyable delivery.

Bawera Grahawarta if combined has a noble meaning, namely a place or media to convey messages, information about important things, both the wealth of art and culture, society, education, industry, tourism, and the beauty of Malang City and its government programs widely, spaciously, stretching throughout the archipelago and abroad.
