Deputy Mayor Welcomes Participants of Indonesia-South Korea Youth Exchange in Malang City

Klojen, MC – As many as 20 young people from South Korea who became participants in the 2016 Indonesia-South Korea Youth Exchange were received directly by the Deputy Mayor of Malang Drs. Sutiaji at the Youth and Sports Service (Dispora) Building of Malang City, Tuesday (8/11).

In his speech, Sutiaji expressed his gratitude to the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports for entrusting Malang City as one of the destinations for youth exchange between the two countries. This is something positive, considering that with this youth exchange there is a transfer of knowledge and culture so that it further increases insight and knowledge. "Cultural assimilation is currently a necessity," said Sutiaji.

Youth exchange is one of the cultural and thought contemplations, so that it can bring the young generation to advance and contribute to development. "The Malang City Government in the coming year is ready to accept youth exchange if it is indeed made the host again," he added.

The PKB politician explained that young people from Indonesia who study in South Korea must understand the culture of time discipline and speed, and have... public relations good so that this must be transmitted to other young people when they return to their hometowns. "I also hope that young people from Indonesia will also spread good things from Indonesia to South Korea," he said.

Meanwhile, the Assistant Deputy for Partnership and Youth Awards of the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports, Drs. Wisler Manalu, MM expressed his gratitude to the Malang City Government for its cooperation and welcome as well as for the success of the youth exchange cooperation with South Korea which has entered its seventh year. "The goal is to strengthen cooperation between Indonesia and Korea, especially in the youth sector as per the program that has been prepared," he said.

He explained that the Indonesian delegation in South Korea visited several institutions and held seminars and discussion forums so that they gained valuable experience. "We also hope that the South Korean delegation can also gain valuable experience," he said. (say/yon)
