Director General of Regional Autonomy, Ministry of Home Affairs Praises Glintung Go Green

This event was quite special, because Sumarsono came with the Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Sanitation Service to see firsthand how Glintung village carries the spirit of greening and is very beautiful and produces economic power for its people. In addition, there were also representatives of students from 41 countries who participated in the Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) International Camp program.

"The idea of ​​the 3G Village is extraordinary, so it needs to be emulated by other regions, including Jakarta," said Sumarsono in his speech.

He explained that initially, Kampung 3G was a slum area with flooding problems every time heavy rain fell, but with planting patterns and breakthroughs and also the Water Saving Movement (Gemar), now this village is beautiful, economically empowered and has a strong environmental insight.

"I came to prove what the Mayor (of Malang) and the Head of RW 23 said, and the results were indeed very good," he explained.

Sumarsono is convinced that building Kampung 3G will take a long time, because not only the environment is being built, but also the mindset of the community.

"Because coincidentally the Head of the DKI Jakarta Province's Cleaning Service is here, I ask that when he returns from here there is... pilot project in Jakarta to create a similar 3G there (Jakarta)," he explained.

In fact, the Director General of Regional Autonomy promised an award to the Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton, if all villages in Malang City could be like Kampung 3G, because this model must be transmitted to other villages. "I promise to give a special award if all villages can be like 3G," he added.

Meanwhile, Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton said that currently Kampung 3G has succeeded in making Indonesia's name famous internationally. The reason is, the Gemar innovation that was initiated entered as a finalist in the world innovative city competition held in Guangzhou.

"We continue to emphasize community economic empowerment through village development. Not only 3G, we also have Tridi Village and Colorful Village," said Abah Anton.

Abah Anton, as the Mayor of Malang is familiarly called, emphasized that the development of the model bottom up This is currently being promoted, especially with the Malang Design Festival which will develop thematic villages in Malang City so that it can boost the community's economic sector.

Head of RW 23 Purwantoro Village, Bambang Irianto, expressed his gratitude for the arrival of the Director General of Regional Autonomy who specifically monitored Kampung 3G.
