Klojen, MC – In order to commemorate Heroes' Day which is commemorated every November 10, the Malang City Government held a Heroes' Day Commemoration Ceremony themed 'Unite Steps for the Country' in the front yard of Malang City Hall, Thursday (10/11). Acting as the ceremony inspector was the Deputy Mayor of Malang Drs. Sutiaji.

In the speech of the Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs read by Deputy Mayor Sutiaji, it was said that the commemoration of the battle of November 10, 1945 in Surabaya as the first and largest battle between Indonesian troops and foreign troops after the Proclamation of Independence on August 17, 1945 which claimed a very large number of lives, thus providing a moral lesson that the best legacy of the nation's heroes is not the 'politics of fear', but the 'politics of hope'.
No matter how heavy the challenges faced and the limitations that exist, it will not dampen the spirit of struggle. By borrowing the phrase of Bung Karno, the spirit of heroism is the spirit of being willing to fight, fighting desperately with full idealism by prioritizing public interests above personal interests.
Therefore, the spirit of heroism is a spirit of unity. Unity that is unanimous and absolute without excluding any group or layer and the spirit of forming and developing the country.
To achieve a life of a free, united, sovereign, just and prosperous nation, progressive patriotism must develop national resilience to be independent in the economy, sovereign in politics and have a personality in culture.
In line with the Trisakti orientation, the government of President Jokowi and Vice President Jusuf Kalla offers a transformative vision of 'Realizing a sovereign, independent and individual Indonesia based on mutual cooperation'.
Quoting again from Bung Karno, the weakness of our soul is that we lack confidence in ourselves as a nation, so that we become a nation that copies other countries, lacks trust in one another, even though we are originally a people who work together, lacks tenacity but rather is too quick to want the easy way and seeks the easy way.
And it's all because of the diminishing sense of national dignity, the diminishing sense of national dignity, the diminishing sense of pride and respect for the abilities and personality of the nation and its own people. It is hoped that the mental revolution movement through a new life movement in the form of overhauling the way of thinking, working, living that hinders progress and improvement and the development of a good way of thinking, working, living can be increasingly encouraged.
