Starfruit, MC – Deputy Mayor of Malang Drs. Sutiaji accompanied by the Head of the Malang City Social Service Dra. Sri Wahyuningtyas, M.Si received a visit from the Elderly Program Monitoring Team at the Malang City Social Service Office, Tuesday (22/11).

Deputy Mayor Sutiaji, who also serves as the Chairperson of the Malang City Regional Elderly Commission, hopes that the arrival of the East Java Provincial Regional Commission Team to monitor elderly programs in Malang City can provide a positive note as input or even criticism and suggestions to further improve the empowerment of the elderly in Malang City so that the elderly in Malang City are also more empowered.
Malang City has Regional Regulation Number 13 of 2015 concerning Elderly Welfare. "The motivation that we continue to promote for our elderly friends is to maintain the spirit so that they can be active and have the awareness to continue to be healthy and be able tomanage his mindset," said Sutiaji.
"A long life should be filled with useful things. The elderly of Malang City must be able to move according to their fields," he added.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the East Java Province Elderly Regional Commission, Drs. Edy Purwinarto said that his arrival with his entourage in Malang City was aimed at conducting an evaluation and reviewing directly, especially regarding government programs that are pro-elderly along with their data and institutions.
"There will be five review groups that will evaluate the elderly program in Malang City. Namely the data and institutional group, the religious, mental, spiritual and health service group, the education and employment service group, the legal aid service group and access to easy facilities and infrastructure, and the social assistance and social protection group," explained Edy.
"All of this aims so that all our efforts to improve the utilization of the elderly can be achieved and the elderly in Malang City can also actively participate in building Malang City and East Java Province," he concluded. (say/yon)
