Tapin District Government's Environmental Agency Studies Implementation of Adiwiyata Schools in Malang City

Klojen, MC – The Malang City Government received a working visit regarding the implementation of Adiwiyata schools from the Environmental Agency (BLH) of Tapin Regency, South Kalimantan Province, Thursday (24/11).

This visit was received directly by the Assistant for Development Administration of the Malang City Secretariat, Ir. Budi Herwanto, MT accompanied by the Environmental Agency (BLH) of Malang City in Meeting Room 1 of Malang City Hall. The group of guests from Tapin Regency consisted of 48 people led by the Head of the BLH of Tapin Regency, Drs. H. Zain Arifin, MM.

Assistant for Development Administration of Malang City Regional Secretariat Ir. Budi Herwanto, MT who read the speech of the Mayor of Malang welcomed and thanked the group of guests from the Tapin Regency Government's BLH for coming to Malang City.

He said that Malang City has an area of ​​± 110,06 km² with five sub-districts and 57 urban villages with a current population growth of ± 900,870 people. 

"Previously, our population was still under 500.000, now it is almost 900.870. Not to mention the students, which are approximately 350.000 students," he said.

According to Budi, BLH is one of the supporting factors for economic growth in Malang City in addition to development in the field of education. Malang City has the motto Tribina Cita, namely Malang as a City of Education, City of Tourism, and City of Industry.

Development in the field of education is a top priority in the development movement in Malang City. The Malang City Government has also developed the types and facilities of education that exist according to Law No. 20 of 2003 with several developments of superior programs such as the acceptance of new students with the system online and zoning, development of vocational education, as well as inclusive and model schools.

"Well, we continue to do this education as an example. And of course we will try to get good grades," he added.

In line with this, the Malang City Government always balances it by implementing various development programs in order to advance the quality of education in Malang City. One of them is by implementing the Adiwiyata program.

Head of Tapin Regency BLH, Drs. H. Zain Arifin, MM as the leader of the group also expressed his gratitude to the Malang City Government for receiving the visit of Tapin Regency BLH.

Arifin said the purpose of this visit was to establish friendship and also to increase and broaden the insight of the Tapin Regency Government in terms of the implementation of Adiwiyata schools which have been successful in Malang City, which was marked by a direct visit to SMPN 10 Malang.

In order to improve and optimize education in Tapin Regency, Arifin hopes that through this visit to the Malang City Government, Tapin Regency can later align itself with the Malang City Government and can catch up on the lag so far. "With this learning, we hope we can improve the Adiwiyata program sustainably," he said. (say/yon)
