Ahead of the Malang Open 2016 which is scheduled to be held on 9-11 December 2016, Secretary of FORKI Malang City, Ujang Suryana said that Malang City karateka are ready. Currently, starting from young karateka to seniors have been conducting intensive preparations with their respective schools.

"We hope that the achievement of Malang City karate can be better than last year. For that, we must do maximum preparation," said Ujang, Friday (25/11).

Not only is the target of the champion expected to increase, he also hopes that the participants who compete will also increase. The last Malang Open 2015 championship was attended by 2.000 participants. "We hope that in 2016 Malang Open will be attended by even more participants, at least it can reach 2.500," Ujang hoped.

The 2016 Malang Open Championship was deliberately competed starting from the early age group, the purpose of which is none other than for coaching. Because from experience so far, coaching that is carried out from an early age through various tight competitions will usually produce leading athletes.

In addition to the Malang Open championship, Ujang said that Malang City athletes are currently also preparing themselves for several championship events. One of them is the regional championship that will be held in Sidoarjo on November 29-30, 2016.

According to Ujang's observation, so far there have been several areas that have become tough opponents for Malang City in various events. Among them are karateka from the Surabaya Marines, Inkai Jatim, Sidoarjo, Jombang and Bali. (cah/yon)
