Malang, MC – Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton opened the 2016 Principal and Education Personnel Working Meeting, Wednesday (30/11) held by the Malang City Education Office. Head of the Malang City Education Office Dra. Zubaidah, MM and also Secretary of the Malang City Education Office Drs. Totok Kasianto accompanied the Mayor of Malang in this activity.
The routine work meeting held by the Functional Education Sector (Fungdik) which is now headed by Dra. Sri Sutrisnawati, M.Pd was attended by 597 education personnel consisting of principals of kindergarten, elementary, junior high, senior high, and vocational high schools, supervisors, heads of UPT Pendas in five sub-districts, and the ranks of the Malang City Education Office.
In his speech, the Mayor of Malang, who is often called Abah Anton, said that the principal is a leader and manager who must be smart and intelligent in leading the school and its residents, both teachers and students, including parents. "The goal is solely so that the educational services provided can run well without any turmoil," he continued.
Abah Anton also appealed to the principals to be dynamic. This is because the development and progress of the era is different from the past. If in the past the media of information and communication were limited, knowledge and levels of science were limited so that everything seemed calm and running smoothly, now there is a little incident then in a matter of seconds the general public will know.
"On this occasion, I would like to thank the education personnel of Malang City. Because from time to time, the city that we love together has always received achievements and awards in various fields, including education. The achievements and awards were all thanks to the hard work and efforts of all the principals," said Abah Anton, which was immediately greeted by enthusiastic applause from the participants.
Abah Anton also hopes that the achievements and positive things that are currently being carried out will be continued and must be improved. Because currently Malang City is a barometer for other cities in the archipelago in managing regional government and in the field of education.
He added that although the free school policy as a manifestation of concern for the little people so that they can get an education is implemented, it does not close the door to community participation.
"Community participation is directly handled by the school. However, communicate and coordinate well with the School Committee. The important thing is transparency and there should be no misuse of community participation," he said again.
At the end of his speech, Abah Anton hoped that what was implemented yesterday could bring benefits with the improvement of performance, quality and the increasing number of achievements made by the education sector of Malang City. Because his party made the education sector a priority scale besides the health sector by always providing a proper budget. (say/yon)
