"One way to emulate the Prophet is to obey and follow the ulama and the dawuh of the kiai, the senior kiai, because the ulama and the kiai are the heirs of the Prophet. The Kiai always guide us to love the homeland, Hubbul Wathan Minal Iman (Love of the homeland is part of faith)," he added.
Love for the homeland is part of faith and love for the homeland also shows that Islam is Rahmatan Lil Alamin, namely Islam that teaches peace and Islam that is a blessing for the Indonesian nation and state.
"Indonesia as the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, has so far shown the world how Islam and national life are in harmony. And this is what other countries see," said the President.
*Plurality: A Gift from Allah SWT*
In the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday, the President explained that many countries are experiencing turmoil, both political and economic. "In Indonesia, thank God, we are still blessed, still given gifts. Economic growth is still above 5 percent," said the President.
In the political field, although relatively very stable, but a bit heated due to the events of November 4, 2016 (411) and December 2, 2016 (212). "But thank God even though it's a bit warmer, it hasn't reached a hot condition. We have to be aware of all that, we are reminded now, that this country is indeed a pluralistic, diverse country," added the President.
Indonesia is a country full of diversity, there are more than 700 tribes and more than 1100 different local languages. "There is no country in the world that is as diverse as our country, Indonesia. This is a gift given by Allah SWT to us. If we can unite, this will be a great example for other countries," explained the President.
This peaceful life amidst diversity cannot be separated from the role of kyai and ulama. "Alhamdulillah, this is thanks to the tausiyah often delivered by the senior kyai, the kyai.
