Kedungkandang, MC – The Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton, laid the first foundation for the restoration of the Al-Muhajirin Mosque, Dirgantara Permai Housing Complex, Lesanpuro Village, Kedungkandang District, Malang City, Thursday (29/12).

The mayor, who is familiarly called Abah Anton by Malang residents, said that the role of mosques is very important in educating the community, especially the younger generation, so that they do not mix with the wrong crowd in the midst of a multidimensional crisis like today.
Not only laying the first stone for the restoration of the Al Muhajirin Mosque, Abah Anton also handed over personal assistance for the construction of the mosque. "To help through grants is currently impossible, therefore on my own initiative with my family to help build the mosque," he said, Thursday (29/12).
He said, never look at the size of the donation, the most important thing is how this good intention can make the community more enthusiastic to be able to quickly complete the restoration of the Al-Muhajirin Mosque.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Al-Muhajirin Mosque Foundation Nurcholis Sunuyeko said the mosque will be built into two floors so that more spiritual and beneficial activities can be carried out.
"Currently, it is not enough to accommodate Friday prayers. Therefore, by developing it, we hope that this mosque can be more representative," said Nurcholis.
In the future, this mosque will also be equipped with various facilities with various supporting facilities including for education. Starting from TPQ, PAUD, TK and in the future will be added to higher levels of education.
"To restore the Al-Muhajirin Mosque is estimated to cost Rp 3 billion to Rp 5 billion. It has now begun, and is targeted to be completed in 2018," he concluded. (cah/yon)
