Lowokwaru, MC – The sustainable handling of slums is increasingly visible in various corners of Malang City. As in RW 6, Dinoyo Village, Lowokwaru District, Malang City, which was previously known as a slum, has now been beautified into a beautiful and radiant village, Monday (9/1).
Deputy Mayor of Malang Drs. Sutiaji said that building is easier than maintaining. "RW 6 Dinoyo Village has the potential to be developed into an outstanding village like Glintung Village," he said, Monday (9/1).
According to Sutiaji, currently Malang City still has many slums that need to be handled. Even in East Java, Malang City has the most slums, so it needs to be handled seriously.
After handling the slums in Dinoyo, the Malang City Government through the central government program will continue to try to handle the problem of slum areas. This is in accordance with the central government program in 2017. Therefore, Sutiaji continued, the Malang City Government will handle ten sub-districts that are slum areas.
"With this, it is hoped that all sub-districts in Malang City that have slums will gradually be included in the planning for the completion of slums," he explained.
Meanwhile, Dinoyo Village Head Arif Tri Sastyawan, S.STP, M.Si admitted that he was pleased with the government's program regarding handling slums. Of course, this must collaborate well between the government and the community.
"The point is there is support from all groups, including the government and the community. Both must walk side by side to beautify this sub-district," said Arif.
"Initially, this sub-district was a slippery and steep area, but now we have transformed it into a comfortable and beautiful village. It is suitable for a tourist destination," he concluded (cah/yon)
