In addition to students, parents and alumni of the school were directly involved in this very lively series of events.

For the cheap market, the school collaborates with Bulog Sub-Division Regional (Divre) Malang, the Malang City Agriculture Service, and the surrounding community. The school also provides basic food assistance to underprivileged residents around the school. This is a form of the school's concern for residents and providing and instilling character education from an early age to students.

The principal of SMP Negeri 6 Malang, Risna Widyawati, on the sidelines of the opening of the cheap market, said that with this event, at least the underprivileged can buy basic necessities at affordable prices amidst the prices of various necessities that have increased quite significantly.

The same thing was also conveyed by the Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton, who appreciated what the school had done. He hopes that an event like this can be an example for other schools. He added that in the future, market operations will continue to be held and will involve various parties.

"Maybe later it will not only be schools, Perum Bulog and the Department of Agriculture that we will invite. It could be the ranks of Banking, Pertamina and various companies that have concern and readiness," added the man who is familiarly called Abah Anton after checking directly the prices of various basic necessities at the cheap market.

Separately, Dianita, one of the local residents, admitted that she felt very helped by the existence of this cheap market. According to the woman in the hijab, the price difference ranges from one thousand to two thousand rupiah, and is quite good for reducing expenses. "I hope the government often holds market operations, especially when prices rise like now," she hoped. (say/yon)
