The area located at the tip of South Sumatra Province is interested in beautifying the riverbank areas in its two sub-districts by painting them as was done in Jodipan Colorful Village.
The Head of the TP PKK Team for Lubuklinggau City, Yeti Oktarina Prana, during a working visit to Malang City, admitted that the story of the beauty of the Colorful Village was already famous in her area, so the government and PKK took the initiative to adopt it.
"We have an area crossed by a beautiful river, but the surrounding housing still looks less than good. That's why we came to Malang (City) to learn from Kampung Warna Warni," said Oktarina while giving a speech at the Majapahit Room, Malang City Hall, Monday (6/2).
Oktarina explained, so far Lubuklinggau City is famous for its transit area because it is flanked by several big cities such as Bengkulu, Jambi and North Musi Rawas. Therefore, in order to increase tourism, the improvement of the riverbank area with colorful painting is expected to be a special attraction for the community.
"Our city area is quite large, 401 square kilometers with a population of only 300 thousand. However, because we are a transit city between four major cities, the population during the day can be up to three times. Unfortunately, the circulation of money is not in our city, because it is only a transit city," he explained.
In fact, Oktarina also praised the Malang City Government's expertise in raising funds. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) from companies so that various developments and provision of infrastructure do not use APBD funds.
"We are targeting the colorful village in Lubuklinggau to be completed in April. This activity was initiated by PKK and synergizes with the government (Lubuklinggau City)," he added.
