Breadfruit (malangkota.go.id) - The Indonesian Music Museum (MMI) Malang, located on Jl. Nusakambangan 19 Malang, became a place for nostalgia for old Indonesian singers, Tuesday (7/2).
The legendary old singers include Dina Mariana, Sandro Tobing, Yayuk Suseno and also a producer from Malaysia, Datin Seri Sina Ghazy. They seemed very enthusiastic, because all their songs are still there and well maintained at MMI, be it in the form of cassettes, vinyl records, CDs, or digital forms.
Dina Mariana admitted that she was very happy to be able to visit and see MMI Malang directly after so long only hearing stories that Malang City has a music museum. And according to her, this is very extraordinary.
"I was very touched to see my vinyl album produced in 1973. This collection is very important, because my vinyl records were lost at home after I moved house," said Dina, Tuesday (7/2).
There are many beautiful memories stored in the vinyl album. As he said if he did the album cover photo shoot in Malaysia. In addition to the album cover, in the neighboring country he also did a photo shoot for a magazine.
In the same vein, Yayuk Suseno also expressed her happiness at being able to visit MMI. She is very happy that a number of her albums can be heard again here. She hopes that this can be a good appreciation event for art lovers in Malang and Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of MMI Malang, Hengki Herwanto revealed that public appreciation for the existence of MMI is increasing day by day. This is very good for the development of MMI which currently has no less than 21 thousand types of collections.
"MMI has many collections, ranging from cassettes, vinyl records, magazines, recording equipment, musical instruments, and artist paraphernalia from the past to the present," explained Hengki.
Currently, MMI has also digitized music, where during the past six months there have been around 14.000 songs from 180 thousand song titles that have been digitized. The hope is that all songs in MMI can be digitized. (cah/yon)
