Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – Malang Mayor H. Moch. Anton appealed to his citizens to optimize the function of mosques. In this context, mosques should not only be used as places of worship to perform prayers, but can also be used for other religious activities such as Al-Quran education, religious studies, community meetings, and so on.

Thus, the Islamic brotherhood or relationship between fellow citizens can be better along with direct communication in one place, namely the mosque. The increasing number of new mosques with optimal functions like that will also help the Malang City Government program in terms of community development.
Some of these things were conveyed by the Mayor of Malang, H. Moch. Anton, during the inauguration of the Baitur Rochmah Mosque located on Jl. KH Hasyim Gang 5 Kedungkandang, Sunday night (12/2). He added that if there is a mosque in an area, then the local residents must be able to make it prosperous and not just make it a complement.
Likewise for children, continued the man who is familiarly called Abah Anton, they should be able to increase and deepen their religious knowledge in the mosque. Related to this, religious education in schools can be strengthened through education in the community, namely by coming to the mosque to study.
"Especially now, where the advancement of technology and information is uncertain and increasingly leads to negative actions. Parents must be more extra in providing supervision and education to their children. Do not accept or believe information that is not necessarily true or that can trigger division," appealed Abah Anton.
Furthermore, the number one person in the Malang City Government environment said that if religious education and formal education of children are strong and balanced, then it will produce future leaders of the nation who are trustworthy and become the pride of their parents. "Therefore, let's start all of this with the smallest things such as prospering and optimizing the function of the mosque," concluded Abah Anton. (say/yon)
