My Village Waiting Village is Now a Mask Tourism Village

Kedungkandang (malangkota.go.id) – In the Village of Desaku Menanti located in Baran Hamlet, Tlogowaru Village, Kedungkandang District, it has now become a new tourist destination in Malang City. This is in line with the inauguration of the Village of Desaku Menanti Menanti as the 100 Mask Tourism Village by the Mayor of Malang H. Moch. Anton and his wife Hj. Dewi Farida Suryani, Tuesday (14/2).

The distinctive feature that stands out in this village is the hundreds of masks displayed in various corners of the village and also two giant masks that tower in the middle of the village.

The Mayor of Malang, who is familiarly called Abah Anton, admitted that he was very impressed with the special gift from the Malang City Social Service which coincided with Umi Farida's (Dewi Farida Suryani_ed) birthday.

"We hope that with the existence of the mask tourism village, the residents of Kampung Desaku Menanti can be more empowered. Never again think about becoming homeless and beggars," hoped Abah Anton, Tuesday (14/2).

He added that by becoming a tourist village, the opportunity for the residents of Kampung Desaku Menanti to become entrepreneurs is greater. Tourists who visit the 100 Masks Tourism Village certainly open a good market for residents to sell various works that have been produced.

"So that in the future more tourists will come to Kampung Desaku Menanti, the road infrastructure must be repaired. For that, I ordered our ranks to immediately repair the road to Kampung Desaku Menanti," explained Abah Anton.

Head of the Malang City Social Service Dra. Sri Wahyuningtyas, M.Si revealed that the Mask Tourism Village was deliberately presented in the Desaku Menanti Village to empower the community. The Desaku Menanti Village which has changed into a tourism village must change the mindset of the residents and not only hope for assistance.

"The government will not always continue to provide assistance, the residents here must continue to learn so they can be independent," said Yuyun, Sri Wahyuningtyas' nickname. (cah/yon)
