Klojen (malangkota.go.id) – The Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (DPUPR) of Malang City normalized water channels or drainage at several vital points. As seen yesterday, Sunday (19/2), the cleaning of the drainage was carried out in front of Pasar Bareng. Dozens of personnel from the TNI/Polri, the Malang City BPBD Task Force, and local residents united in carrying out community service.

This drainage normalization is more focused on areas connected to various large rivers that flow into Malang City, such as the flow of the Amprong, Brantas and Bangao rivers. With this cleaning, it is hoped that in the future in Malang City there will be no more puddles and even floods, especially during the rainy season like now.
At least that is what was conveyed by the Head of DPUPR Malang City Ir. Hadi Santoso when met on the sidelines of community service. According to the man who is familiarly called Soni, his party will continue to do things like this at several points in Malang City so that there are no more clogged water channels.
In cleaning the gutters this time, DPUPR asked for help from one fire engine to help remove drainage blockages with high-pressure water spray. Officers even cleaned using large bamboo to normalize the drainage.
He added, with the normalization of the water channel, in the future all residents of Malang City are urged not to throw garbage in the water channel. This is proven by the presence of various types of garbage that clog the channel which was discovered when the sidewalk was dismantled. (say/yon)
